70 American teenagers visited the Kunming Flying Tigers Museum and Jiaoye Park in the outskirts of Kunming on June 28, as part of the Chinese Bridge - Flying Tigers Summer Camp for American Youth.
In front of the monument of the park, campers paid their respects to the past. "It's incredible that the Flying Tigers pilots, driven by their sense of justice, flew over such daunting mountains and achieved remarkable feats," said camper Torrey.
At the Flying Tigers Memorial Hall, the guestbook was filled with heartfelt messages from visitors. Camper Marco wrote down his thought in English: "History is a very powerful thing… History reminds us of our actions."
The team leader Cindy expressed her hope that more American teenagers would come to China through the Chinese Bridge to learn about China and infuse the China-U.S. friendship with youthful energy.
