Theprovinceexportedcoffeeandrelatedproductsworth840millionyuan($120million)inthefirst11monthsof2025,accordingtoKunmingCustoms,makingitthecountry'slargestcoffee-exportingregionduringtheperiodsurveyed.
ThegrowthhasbeendrivenbyYunnan'snaturaladvantagesasoneoftheworld'sprimecoffee-growingregions,alongsideeffortstoupgradetheentireindustrychainandincreaseproductvalue.
Accordingtolocalofficials,small-graincoffeebeansfromBaoshan,akeyproducingareainwesternYunnan,havegainedinternationalrecognitionfortheirdistinctiveflavor,oftendescribedasstrongbutnotbitter,aromaticyetsmooth,withamildfruityacidity.
Earlierthismonth,ashipmentof19.2tonsofBaoshan-growncoffeebeanswasexportedtoMalaysia.GaoJie,generalmanagerofBaoshanGaolaozhuangAgriculturalandSidelineProductsDevelopmentCo,theprovider,saidthecompanyhasexported124tonsofcoffeebeansthisyeartomarketsincludingVietnam,SouthKorea,MalaysiaandSingapore.
Otherproducersarealsoexpandingoverseas.FanBen,directorofYunnanJinglanTropicalCropsTechnologyCo,saidthefirmexportedcoffeeproductsforthefirsttimethisyear,withshipmentsreachingRussia,JordanandMalaysia.Thecompanyhasdeveloped17coffeeproducts,includingcold-brewvarieties.
